Born in Bayonne, NJ but raised by the streets of Newark. We have Lil Bit. She's definitely been on fire lately with her latest two releases, "Grind" which features Mac Groves and is produced by 3Genius. She also dropped, #B2DB and it is going crazy everywhere.
We've recently asked Lil Bit 10 random questions about who influenced her music, her latest single B2DB, other Jersey artists having the it factor and much more. Here's how it went:
When your in your creative process, what do you tackle first? Verse or Hook?
Definitely hook.
What would you be doing right now if it wasn't for music?
Prolly angry, (laughs). Putting my hands on people and still working security.
Were you influenced by old school Hip Hop or this new generation of music?
I like old school Hip Hop more.
What artists do you gravitate to more? Mainstream or underground artists, it don't matter?
Indie artists, that's all that's on my apple music foreal.
What is your favorite song to perform?
B2DB at clubs and Quiet Storm at events with crowds that like bats and pain music (laughs).
Besides yourself, what other Jersey artists do you believe have that "it" factor and why?
Damn its a few foreal!!! Ion wanna leave nobody out goddamn... but off top of my head I wanna say Laady J - she has style out this world. She's lyrical a** f*** and original a** f**. She don't sound like nobody.
Risky Raw - she be snapping. She's lyrical a** f***. Has bars for days, literally. She's a great story teller, you can feel her music. She rap and sing and fire at both and look good a** f*** (laughs).
Daduhh GG - I listen to him faithfully. His music sound like he made it already, foreal foreal.
Daidough - He already blew up in my eyes (100 emoji). His flow is his own sh**, his energy fire, he's genuine and got the look. I think you know b****es will be wanting to look at (laughs).
Mr. Chicken - He up now fasho. If I had a million or couple of million, this n***a would be the first I sign. His drip is crazy and his music and sound is hard a** f***.
ZaizzyG - RIP, He's not physically here with us anymore but n***as knew he was great that's why they hated enough to take him from us.
At this point we agreed completely with Lil Bit on the artists she thought had the "it" factor from Jersey. At the same time we were sadden due to the sudden death of ZaizzyG. Who music we gravitated to heavy. An sometimes listening to his most recent project released by his family, it's painful to listen too because he's no longer here. #LLZaizzyG
What is the most trouble you've ever gotten into?
I don't know, (laughs), I think when I was with my blooda and the crackhead he rented the car from... stole it (laughs). They pulled us over, guns out and everything. Surrounded, we had to lay ona ground and everything. We went to jail, had to go to court to clear our name and everything (laughs), SCREAMING.
How do you balance your music with other obligations such as your partner, child(ren), or job?
I'm single a** f***, I spend a lot of time with my kids and my mom helps with them when I gotta show, music video or whatever the case is. An I am the job, so when I have something to do, I block the time out so I can work and still handle business.
Do you get nervous before a performance? If so, how do you handle it?
Nah, ion get nervous at all. When I first started I was nervous. But then I'd look at people in the crowd that I knew personally and them only (laughs).
We know you personally make music off of experience. What made you write "B2DB."
A hating a** hoe made a subliminal status on Facebook. Referencing that, "I think I'm better than everybody." And I let it be known, I never said that. So that must be what SHE think of me. One of her hoe friends jumped ona bandwagon and said, "I'm too ugly to be conceited.." So I said, "MAD CUS I"M CONCEITED B**** I"M BAD TO THE BONE."!!
